Freight Preparation does not include crating, custom boxing, carrier booking, shipping charges, insurance, or delivery charges.

What to Provide for a Freight Quote

Freight quotes depend on the details provided. When requesting a quote, share the information below with the freight agent or carrier.

Item Details Product link, item description, dimensions, estimated weight, and photos if requested.
Pickup & Delivery Details Pickup zip code, delivery zip code, residential or commercial delivery, and any access limitations.
Handling Details Confirm whether the item will be loose freight, blanket wrapped, or palletized.
Required Services Liftgate service is required because our location does not have a loading dock.
How to Enter Palletized Freight

If the item is being quoted as palletized freight, enter the freight details based on the final palletized shipment, not just the item alone.

  • Use 48" x 40" if the item fits on a standard pallet.
  • If the item is larger, increase only the larger side. Example: 55.6" wide becomes 60" wide.
  • Height should be the item height plus 5" for the pallet.
  • Weight should be the item weight plus 30 lbs for the pallet.
  • Select Liftgate Pickup because our location does not have a loading dock.
  • Select Liftgate Delivery unless the delivery location has a confirmed dock or forklift.

Freight Pickup Instructions

Use standard freight pickup instructions for most items. If the item is oversized, unusually heavy, fragile, or requires special handling, contact us before finalizing the quote so we can help confirm the proper pickup plan.

  • Freight pickups require at least 48 hours notice.
  • Shipment must include liftgate service.
  • Our location does not have a loading dock.
  • Our location is not limited access.
  • Packaging may be loose freight, blanket wrapped, or palletized depending on the item.
  • If palletized, standard pallet size is typically 48" x 40" when the item fits.
  • The carrier must be prepared to load the item from the designated pickup area.
Customer Responsibility, Storage & Carrier Charges

Customers are responsible for selecting, booking, confirming, and paying any mover, freight carrier, or delivery provider used for transport.

  • Shipping, delivery, freight, and insurance costs.
  • Carrier fees, including missed pickup, redelivery, residential delivery, storage, return charges, or accessorial charges.
  • Confirming quote accuracy, service requirements, and delivery details directly with the carrier.
  • Any damage, loss, delay, or issue that occurs after the carrier or delivery provider takes possession of the item.
Storage policy: Pickup, delivery, or freight must be scheduled within 72 hours of purchase. Items not picked up or scheduled within 72 hours may be subject to a $10.00 per day storage fee. The maximum storage period is 14 days unless prior arrangements are approved by Lost & Found.
Once a carrier, mover, or third-party delivery provider takes possession of the item, transport responsibility transfers to the carrier and the customer.
